Brava: Drivers and residents satisfied with the start of paving work on the Ribeira Nhá Tânia – Cutelo Pedra Bica road.

In statements to Inforpress, resident Henrique Barros stated that the road was in very poor condition and had needed repairs a long time ago.

"The sidewalks were in terrible condition, and this work was much needed. I am very pleased with this upgrade, which will significantly improve traffic flow for both pedestrians and vehicles," he stated.

The drivers also expressed satisfaction with the start of the project.

In an interview, Carlos Martins and driver Jorge da Lomba highlighted that the poor condition of the road made traffic difficult and argued that the project will contribute to improving mobility and safety conditions.

In turn, the president of the Brava Municipal Council, Amândio Brito, explained that, despite being a short stretch of road, it was in very poor condition, causing problems for both pedestrians and motorists.

“We received many complaints from drivers, and therefore we decided to proceed with its requalification. The work is already quite advanced and our goal is to complete it along its entire length, from Ribeira Nhá Tânia to Cutelo Pedra Bica,” he stated.

The mayor added that this intervention is part of the ongoing urban rehabilitation and redevelopment process in the municipality.

“We are continuing the process of urban rehabilitation and requalification, which will be extended to various areas of the city of Nova Sintra, with the aim of giving people back comfortable and safe roads. We will continue this work in other locations,” he assured.

According to Brito, the town of Nossa Senhora do Monte will be the next to benefit from similar interventions, with the aim of facilitating the mobility of the population and ensuring better traffic conditions.

The project is the result of a partnership between the Brava Municipal Council and the Government of Cape Verde and represents an investment of over five million escudos.
